naja਼ra mihara dI rakkhe tere 'te ohale karadA pala nahIM
He keeps a merciful eye upon you, not hiding from you for even a moment
ਰੋਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਥੁੜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ

He won't let your bread run short, for bread is no concern at all

dANA pANI o chaMnA te jagga dA
One's [Daana Paani: predestined food and water/sustenance] belongs to the Divine, O dear one
ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਉਸਦੇ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਦਾ
sabha jIa usade te uha hai sabha dA
All beings belong to Him, and He belongs to everyone
ਦਾਣਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਓਏ ਕਿਸੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣਾ
dANA pANI oe kise luTTa nahIM laiNA
O, your [Daana Paani: sustenance] cannot be looted by anyone
ਤੇਰਾ ਥੁੜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਵਾਧੂ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਾ
terA thu.DadA nahIM uhade vAdhU kola nahIM rahiNA
You shall not lack, and He shall not keep what is rightfully yours

Many sobs, many conflicts, much joy, and much laughter
ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿੱਟ ਸਿਆਪੇ

O man, the One who sent you to this world will look after you Himself

O, He wrote your [Daana Paani: sustenance] before you were even born
ਤੇਰੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਿਆ

Your gaze is restless, that is why you cannot see it

Eat half a loaf earned rightfully; do not commit [Zabar: oppression/injustice] for the whole

ਉਹਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰ ਮਨਾ ਐਵੇਂ ਰੱਖ ਨਾ ਗਿਲੇ
uhadA sa਼ukara manA aiveM rakkha nA gile
Be grateful to Him; do not harbor such pointless grievances
ਦਾਣਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਓਏ ਕੈਸੀ ਹੈ ਖ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ

O, what a strange [Khumari: intoxication/obsession] this is
ਦਾਤੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੇ ਦਾਤ ਹੋਈ ਪਿਆਰੀ

The gift has become dearer to you than the Giver Himself
