ਸਾਲੋਂ ਸੇ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਪੇ ਸੰਭਲ ਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹਾ ਥਾ ਯੂਂ
sAloM se sa.DakAM pe saMbhala ke challa rahA thA yUM
For years I walked these streets with such careful poise
ਗਾਲੋਂ ਕੇ ਗੱਡੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾ ਜਾਣੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੈਂ ਲੜਖੜਾ ਕੇ ਗਿਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੂੰ
gAloM ke gaDDoM meM tere nA jANe kiuM maiM la.Dakha.DA ke gira giA hUM
Into the dimples of your cheeks, I know not why, I’ve stumbled and fallen so deep
ਮੁਸਕੁਰਾਓ ਔਰ ਐਸੇ ਹੱਸੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਤੋਂ ਪੇ

Adhe se chAMda sI haMsI aMdherI rAtoM meM aba nUra baNa gaI kiuM
Why has a laugh like a crescent moon become a shimmering light [Noor: divine radiance/glow] in these dark nights
ਐ ਚਾਂਦ ਅਬ ਚਾਂਦਨੀ ਬਣਕੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ

O moon, now as moonlight every single day
ਗਿਰਤੇ ਰਹੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਤੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਊਂਗਾ
girate raho mere Asa-pAsa to terA hI ho jAUMgA
Keep falling all around me, and I shall become yours alone
