Walls between our lives
ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਨੇ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ
besa਼kka ne lekhAM vicha
Even if in the pages of fate
ਜੁਦਾਈਆਂ ਲਿਖਤੀਆਂ
judAIAM likhatIAM
Separations have been etched
ਹੁੰਦੇ ਅੱਥਰੂ ਨਾ ਠੱਲ੍ਹ
huMde attharU nA Thallha
These tears cannot be stemmed
ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੁੱਝਦੀ ਏ ਗੱਲ
nA koI sujjhadI e galla
No solution comes to mind
ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੱਜਣਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ

That by splitting up, we became worthless dust
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਗਏ

This tear-soaked kerchief tells the tale

Even the eyelashes of the [Sajjan: soulmate/beloved] cannot bear the weight of their tears
ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਸਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੁਹਤਾਜ਼ ਉਹ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ

The love that is a slave to physical presence can never be true love
