He saved the life of Lakshman
ਸੀਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਢੂੰਢ ਲੀ ਉੜ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ
sItA mAtA DhUMDha lI u.Da ke gae samuMdara pAra
He found Mother Sita after flying across the ocean
ਬੋਲੇ ਸੀਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ
bole sItA mAtA praNAma
He said, "Mother Sita, I bow to you"
ਮੈਂ ਹੂੰ ਰਾਮ ਦੂਤ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ
maiM hUM rAma dUta hanUmAna
"I am Hanuman, the messenger of Lord Ram"
ਯੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੀ ਅੰਗੂਠੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਬਾਤ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ
ye mere prabhU kI aMgUThI hai jo isa bAta kA hai pramANa
"This is my Lord's ring, which serves as proof of this fact"
ਔਰ ਬੋਲੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਚਲੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ
aura bole mAtA chalo mere sAtha
And He said, "Mother, come along with me"
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਬਾਟ
prabhU rAma jI dekha rahe bATa
"Lord Ram is waiting for your return"
ਬੋਲੀ ਸੀਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਨਾ ਨਾ ਨਾ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ
bolI sItA mAtA nA nA nA hanUmAna
Mother Sita said, "No, no, no, Hanuman"
ਨਾ ਨਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਗਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਇਹ ਕਾਜ
nA nA nA hogA pUrA iha kAja
"No, no, no, this task will not be completed this way"
ਤੁਮ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਦੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ
tuma jA ke kahi do mere prabhU rAma ko
"You go and tell my Lord Ram"
ਸੀਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ
sItA mAtA ne bolI hai iha bAta
"Mother Sita has sent this message"
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਬਾਤ ਕੀ ਯੁਗੋਂ ਯੁਗੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਬਾਤ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਏ
ki isa bAta kI yugoM yugoM takka bAta hoNI chAhIe
"That this event should be spoken of for ages and ages"
ਸਭ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਸਬਸੇ ਬੜੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਏ
sabha nArI kA sanamAna sabase ba.DI la.DAI hoNI chAhIe
"The respect of every woman must be the greatest battle fought"
ਇਸ ਰਾਵਣ ਜੈਸੋਂ ਕਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੇ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਏ
isa rAvaNa jaisoM kA dharatI se vinAsa਼ hoNA chAhIe
"Demons like this Ravana must be erased from this earth"
ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਜੀ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਗਏ ਫਿਰ ਰਾਵਣ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ
hanUmAna jI kha਼uda gae phira rAvaNa ke pAsa
Hanuman then went to Ravana himself
ਸਮਝਾਏ ਵੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਰ ਮਾਨਾ ਵੋ ਬਾਤ
samajhAe vo bahuta para mAnA vo bAta
He counseled him much, but he did not listen
ਉਸਕੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੰਕਾ ਮੇਂ ਮਚਾ ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ
usake bAada laMkA meM machA hAhAkAra
After that, a great outcry broke out in Lanka
ਰਾਵਣ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਜਰੰਗ ਬਲੀ ਕੀ ਪੂੰਛ ਮੇਂ ਲਗਾਈ ਆਗ
rAvaNa ne pahilAM bajaraMga balI kI pUMCha meM lagAI Aga
Ravana first set fire to the tail of [Bajrang Bali: the diamond-bodied warrior]
ਕਰਾ ਉਨਕਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਵਣ ਕੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਫੂਕ ਦੀ ਕਤੀ ਕਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਨ
karA unakA apamAna phira ke rAvaNa kI laMkA phUka dI katI kara dI sa਼masa਼Ana
He insulted Him, so He burnt Ravana’s Lanka to the ground, making it a graveyard
ਕਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਰੇ ਰਾਵਣ ਤੈਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਫੂਕੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਫੂਕਾਂਗੇ ਰਾਮ
kahi giA re rAvaNa taine merI phUkI laMkA tainUM phUkAMge rAma
The message was left: "Ravana, you burnt my tail, now Ram will burn you"
