You are in every instrument

You are in every voice
ਸੁਬਹ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ
subaha vicha tUM
You are in the morning light
ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ‘ਚ ਤੂੰ

You are within humanity
ਚੰਗਿਆਂ ‘ਚ ਤੂੰ

You are within the virtuous
ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ

You are within time itself
ਸਵਾਦ ‘ਚ ਤੂੰ

I know nothing of divine knowledge, meditation, or righteous deeds
ਸਾਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੇਰੀ
sAra nA jANA terI
I do not know the extent of Your worth
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ

Nothing in this world belongs to me

Every single thing, O Guru, is Yours
ਕੀ ਲਿਖਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ‘ਚ ਤੇਰੀ

What can I possibly write in Your praise?
ਇਹ ਲਿਖਤ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ

The sounds we hear are also You

The tongue with which we speak is also You
