We always keep our hearts humble
ਪਰ ਮੱਤ ਨਿਰਵਾਣ ਰੱਖੀਏ

But keep our intellect enlightened and supreme

Keeping a falcon’s eye on the enemy's every move
ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਹੀਂਓਂ ਮੁੱਕਦੇ
mAra ke mukAiA para siMgha nahIMoM mukkade
They tried to finish us with force, but the [Singhs] never end
ਕੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂਓਂ ਝੁਕਦੇ

Heads may be severed, but their heads never bow

This is the true wonder, it is [Akaal]

To everyone, I say [Sat Sri Akal: Victory to the Timeless Truth; the Sikh greeting]
ਸਵਾ ਲੱਖ ਸੇ ਏਕ ਲੜਾਊਂ
savA lakkha se eka la.DAUM
I shall make one take on a hundred and twenty-five thousand
ਚਿੜੀਓਂ ਸੇ ਮੈਂ ਬਾਜ਼ ਤੁੜਾਊਂ

I shall make the sparrows tear apart the falcons
